I got a little sidetracked last night and instead of editing my photos for stuffed squash, I painted a new background and organized all my props. I’ve been meaning to do that for a while and it felt so good.
I highly recommend crossing that alwaysonmytodolistbecauseitsthelastthinginthewholewideworldiwannado task. You’ll feel a kazillion times lighter and might even be motivated to make a new list for those never-ending to-dos.
All that jazz to say, I thought up the ider to make a Top 5 post ’cause who doesn’t like lists and High Fidelity? No one cool that’s who. Add John Cusack to that list, if you don’t like him, watch The Sure Thing and get back to me. Or don’t.
And your Top 5 Thirsty Thursday Drinks are….
These are dangerous. As in they could pass for virgin drinks any day of the week.
Beautiful, strong and delicious.
This drink was how I convinced myself to like lemonade, after hating it since I was a kid.
2. Minty Whiskey Blood Orange Sours
So, um, I never added the recipe to this post… not gonna lie, I wrote the post during my first, or second drink and I plum forgot to add it. Then I forgot what I precisely did. Whoops. But! I think I know. So here’s it: Ice, 1 1/2 ounces Irish Whiskey, 1/2 blood orange, juiced, 1/2 lime, juiced, 1/2-1 tsp powdered sugar, 4 mint leaves. {Muddle the mint, powdered sugar and lime juice together. fill with ice, add whiskey, top with blood orange juice. – or you could middle the mint, sugar, lime and blood orange (juice and fruit), top with ice, fill with whiskey… just thought of that.}
Seriously, this sucker is the best mixed drink I think I’ve ever had. Totally not to sweet (i.e. not hangover inducing,) and uniquely spicy/peppery from the basil, it’s ahhmazing. Even my non-vodka-loving husband loves it. And told me about ever third sip how good it was. So try it asap. Plus it’s a good way to use up those onlylast3daysinthefridge packages of basil.
Enjoy Responsibly!
