Why spend upwards of $8 on a gourmet sandwich when you can make one yourself?
Oh you can’t cook? Well making a sandwich ain’t cooking, its assembling, and if you can use a computer, and know what a blog is, then you can make yo self a sandwich. So get to it.
Tips for making gourmet sandwiches:
*Toast bread or use a Panini Press (extra fancy gourmet)
*Layer it in: I used nitrate free turkey and crunchy prosciutto (baked at 400 degrees in toaster oven until crisp ~ 5 mins) with spicy lettuce, shallots and cheese. I also love veggies like thinly sliced carrots, cucumbers and bell peppers cause they add a refreshing crunch.
*Sauce both sides: Honey Dijon mustard and tapenade work great by adding boat loads of flavor; try your favorite salad dressing as a sub for mayo, or use hummus or jam if you’re feeling a little crazy, be sure to get both slices.
Let it fall out: In my opinion you can’t put too much on a sammy. (had to say it!) I love pickles and chips with every bite.
